Track Beer Pong Stats - Every Value BeerpongMe Records

Jump to the FAQ

Beer pong is more than just beer and balls - anyone who plays regularly eventually wants to know how good they really are. That’s why the BeerpongMe app tracks a whole range of beer pong stats for every match - automatically, in the background, with zero extra effort for the player. In this article, we’ll show you which stats the app records, how they’re calculated, and what they reveal about your beer pong skill.

Why track beer pong stats at all?

Classically, you play beer pong, high-five each other, and forget the match two days later. With BeerpongMe, every game becomes a data point in your personal player profile. Benefits:

  • you can see whether you’re actually improving (or just feel like you are)
  • you see your hit rate across many matches instead of going by gut feeling
  • in leagues and tournaments, real rankings emerge over time - not just gut feeling
  • for streaming, Twitch, and Instagram, stats are content gold

And yes: stats turn the drinking game into a small, serious competition. That’s the point.

Which stats does BeerpongMe track?

The BeerpongMe app records a range of values for each player per match and aggregates them into your lifetime stats. Here’s an overview.

Basic values

  • Hits (cups hit) and throws (total number of balls)
  • Hit rate - hits divided by throws
  • Wins and matches played
  • Throws until first hit (averaged across all matches)
  • Match duration (total and average duration)
  • Latest placement (in league/tournament context)

Special shots

In addition, the app counts special types of shots, which also feed into the optional points ranking:

  • Clean Hit - a clean hit without touching the rim
  • Last Cup - the final, game-deciding cup
  • Bouncer - a bounce shot into the cup
  • Trick Shot - a throw with a special action
  • Bumper, Bomb, and Balls Back
  • Perfect - a match without losing a single one of your own cups

On top of that, there are two pure counters that award no points - they simply record what happened at the table:

  • On Fire - several hits in a row, you’re heating up
  • Saves - a ball that had already landed in your cup and that you blew back out before it settled

Whoever is keeping score in the app enters these special shots: tap + next to the value on the player card. A mis-tap can be undone right away with −.

Streaks

  • Win streak and loss streak (consecutive wins or losses)

What counts as a “good” hit rate?

The hit rate is the only beer pong stat that’s comparable across games, opponents, and time. Rule-of-thumb benchmarks:

Hit rate Level
under 20% Beginner / party player
20–30% Casual player
30–40% Solid club / league player
40–55% Strong league player, tournament semifinalist
55–70% Pro level
over 70% World top 100 (BPONG / WSOBP)

These figures are a rough guideline for classic beer pong with 10 cups per side. On shorter tables or with looser party rules, hit rates tend to be noticeably higher.

The points ranking

Leagues can optionally activate a points ranking. Instead of sorting purely by wins, the app then awards a different number of points per action. The default weighting:

Action Points
Cup hit 1
Last Cup 2
Trick Shot 5
Bouncer 5
Win 10
Perfect Game 10

This way, it’s not just whether a team wins that counts, but how - a team with many clean hits and special shots collects more points. If the points ranking is disabled, the table is sorted either by cups hit or by wins.

The BeerpongMe player profile

Every logged-in BeerpongMe player has a public profile at https://beerpongme.com/user/<nickname>. There you’ll find:

  • Profile picture & nickname
  • Lifetime hit rate and win rate
  • Number of matches played and wins
  • Special shot values in an overview chart
  • a cup heatmap showing which cups you hit most often
  • filters by your leagues and tournaments

The profile is publicly indexable by search engines - anyone who googles your beer pong nickname will find the profile. That’s ideal for league captains scouting new players.

Want to show off your beer pong stats without anyone opening the app? Tap “Share” on your profile and pick “Statistics”. BeerpongMe turns them into an image with your record, win rate, form over the last games, key numbers and the cup heatmap - as a Story, Post, Square or landscape image. The same exists for team stats on the team page.

Team and league stats

Besides player values, BeerpongMe also keeps team and league stats:

  • cups hit and cups against the team over the season
  • wins and the resulting table position
  • league and tournament rankings per competition

Depending on the setting, the league table is sorted by points, cups hit, or wins. The leaderboard and the cups-hit ranking of the current season can also be sent as an image via “Share” on the league page - your own team is highlighted.

Where to see your stats in the app

  • Match stats: right after the match ends on the result page, plus anytime via the match URL
  • Player profile: /user/<nickname> or your name at the top of the menu → “View Profile”
  • Team profile: /team/<team-name> or via your own team tab
  • League stats: league tab “Statistics” with table and rankings
  • Tournament stats: tournament tab “Statistics” with team values per competition

Beer pong stats vs. other scoring apps

Most other beer pong apps (Pong Bros, Beer Pong Stats) mainly track the score and a hit rate - but no weighted special shots and no cross-league lifetime evaluation. Frequently asked questions

Which stat matters most in beer pong?

The hit rate (balls thrown that land in a cup, divided by the total number of throws). It's comparable across playing sessions and opponents - unlike wins, which depend heavily on your teammate. A hit rate above 40% is considered solid, above 60% is pro level.

Are Fast Game results also saved in the stats?

Yes, as long as you were logged in. Fast Game matches feed into the same personal stats as league and tournament matches. Anonymous guest sessions are not recorded in the profile stats.

Can I share my beer pong stats publicly?

Yes. Every BeerpongMe player profile has a public URL in the form /user/<nickname>. You can share the link - viewers will see your hit rate, wins, and league history. With “Share” on your profile you also get your stats as a ready-made image for Instagram or WhatsApp.

What do On Fire and Saves mean in beer pong stats?

On Fire counts how often you landed several hits in a row. Saves counts the balls that had already landed in your cup and that you blew back out before they settled. Both are pure counters: they show up in your profile and in the rankings, but they award no points in the points ranking.

What is the points ranking in BeerpongMe?

Leagues can optionally activate a points ranking that weights different actions differently - for example, a regular hit is worth 1 point, the last cup 2, a Trick Shot or Bouncer 5, a win or Perfect Game 10. If it's disabled, the table is sorted by cups hit or by wins.
